The child Nutrition Department of North Lamar ISD is implementing an innovative new service for our students and parents. The exciting new service is called Lunch Money Now. This program will permit parents to access their student's caferia account via the Internet. Parents and students can log on to the Lunch Money Now website from Quicklinks or the Food Service webpage. read more...

Everett Elementary Students Have Big Hearts for Haiti

Collecting jars and baggies full of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, Everett Elementary students pooled their money together and raised $569.17 to help with the recent disaster in Haiti by giving to the Lamar County American Red Cross.

NLHS Winkler Advances to Beta Nationals

North Lamar High School senior, Matt Winkler, will head to Louisville, Kentucky, in late June to compete at the Beta National Convention. Winkler proved himself in San Antonio at the Beta State Convention by placing first in science while classmate, Ingrid Chavez, placed second in Special Talent. NLHS Beta Sponsor is Patti Haley.
The Lamar County Health Department now has H1N1 vaccines, nasal mist and injectables.  These are free of charge.  Children 6 months to 24 years are eligible.  H1N1 vaccines are also available at some physician's offices.
Seasonal flu vaccines are now available in Lamar County. Please contact the Health Departmet or your physician. Those with flu-like symptoms should stay home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever without the use of fever-reducing medicines. Please reinforce to your students to wash your hands frequently with soap and water and cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue.
