School Board Election – November 3, 2020

About the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for overlapping terms of three years each.  Elections are conducted in May.  Following the election, the board elects a president, vice-president and secretary to serve for one-year terms.

North Lamar ISD will conduct a school board trustee on November 3, 2020 with two open seats. 

Candidate Eligibility for School Board Trustee

  • Residence - 1 year in state and 6 months in school district prior to filling deadline (Texas Elec. Code, Section 141.001)
  • Age - 18 years
  • Must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline
  • Must not have felony/misdemeanor (Ed. Code 11.066)

Application Process

  • Candidate filing period to file application for place on the ballot is:  Wednesday, January 15, 2020 to Friday, February 14, 2020 - Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • All applications filed are public records and open to inspection upon request.
  • Completed forms must be filed in the Roy C. Chadwick Administration Building at 3130 N Main, Paris, Texas 75460.

Early voting:  October 19, 2020 – October 30, 2020 Monday – Friday

Early Voting Polling Location:  Roy C Chadwick Administration Building - 3130 N Main, Paris, Texas 75460

Early Voting Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Election Day:  November 3, 2020

Election Day Hours:  7:00 a.m - 7: 00 p.m.
