March 26
- NL Pantherette Volleyball team named District 16-4A Champions ended
their season in the Area round of the playoffs to Highland Park.

March 21
- NLHS sophomore Shannon Strotheide was selected as a winner of the 2008
Youth Tour trip to Washington, DC sponsored by Lamar Electric
Cooperative. Shannon will meet her congressman and visit many historical
sites and government buildings. |

March 14
- North Lamar Pantherettes claim District 16-4A Soccer title. This
is their eighth straight season to play post-district, but the first time
to win the district title. |

March 6
- Six NL Pantherettes named to All-District 11-4A Girls Basketball Team.
Sharing the Most Valuable Player Honor is Logan Anglin, Emily Fouse, and
Ali Stone. Named to the First Team are Ashley Endsley and Chelsie
Shackelford and Second Team is Chloe Troutt. |

- Four NLHS students are named to the District 11-4A Basketball team.
First team members are seniors Justin Collard and Qualon Fort, second team
is Patrick Thomas, and Hawk Hawkins earned an honorable mention.

- NLHS senior Jordan McLamore was selected as Good Citizen by the Joseph
Ligon Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. |

February 17
- NL Pantherette Basketball team finished undefeated in District 11-4A
winning a total of 28 games. |

February 10
- NLHS FFA member Noah Chipman won Ft. Worth Stock Show Calf Scramble.
Noah was one of eight students who received a $500 purchase certificate
that will help buy a registered beef or dairy heifer for a FFA project.
Noah must care for his animal throughout the year and return for the 2009
show to exhibit his animal. |

- Pantherettes earn the District 11-4A Basketball title with an
unblemished record of 10-0. This makes the NL Pantherettes third district
title in the last four seasons. |

February 4
- Skills USA District 5 Auto Service Technology Contest results: Robert
Allard - 2hd Place and Casey Moore - 3rd Place. Sponsor Jim Hyatt

February 4
- The Area 3 HOSA Spring Leadership conference was held in Dallas at
Townview HS. Over 600 HOSA students attended the conference. North Lamar
brought home the following wins: Ben Williams - 5th Place Sports
Medicine; Courtney Ballard - 2nd Place Personal Care; and Jacob Malone -
1st Place Personal Care. Hemali Patel was elected to serve as the Area 3
HOSA Secretary for the next year. This is the first time NLHS has had a
HOSA officer elected. All 1-3rd advance to State HOSA which will be in
April. Hemali will attend State for officer training. Advisor Patricia

- For the 4th time in 6 years, the North Lamar Beta Club has
brought home a State
Officer. Samuel Cosgrove is the newly installed Texas Vice-President.
The next stop is the National Convention in Myrtle Beach, SC in June.

- NLHS senior Cassandra Wilson was named to the Texas All-State Women's
Choir. Cassandra also earned 1st Chair honors at region band

- The Spurs, a group of sixth grade students attending Stone Middle
School, have been featured at several local performance. Students are
Cory Compton, Benjamin Drake, Carson Rast, Wesley Hines, Holland Russell,
Kelsie Allen, Stephanie Brewer, and Hannah Igleheart. |

- NLHS football players named to Red River Valley Football Team: 1st Team
Offense - Corey Woods; 1st Team Defense - Clay Maberry; 2nd Team Offense -
A. J. George, Daniel Kampfer, Colton Wade, and Elijah Rater; and Honorable
Mention: Cody Sellers, Mack Brawley, and Logan Lane. Coach Tommy Felty
