Teaching Philosophy
To encourage students to improve their reading, writing, and grammar skills
through different techniques and strategies. Along with with these skills,
I believe students should be held responsible for deadlines and taking proactive
measures to master required content.

Personal
I have been happily married to my wife Tonya for eleven years.
We have a yellow lab named Honey. An avid reader of all genres, I also
enjoy writing dramas and short fiction. I was fortunate to have my
article, "The Religious Issues in Lanford Wilson's Early Plays," published
by the Theatre Southwest Journal in 1999. Another essay entitled "Georg
Buchner's Woyzeck Influence on Bertolt Brecht's Baal" was a
finalist at the 2000 Southwest Theatre Convention.
Along with my joy for writing
and reading, I enjoy performing as well. When not at school or home, I
enjoy my time at Providence Baptist Church.
Introducing the
newest member of my family, Dianna Renee Russell. She was born on Aug. 20,
2007.

Renee with big
brother Luke, now 2.
