GIMP steps for creating transparent backgrounds
FILE SIZE NOTE:
Create a new document in GIMP that is 720 x 540 pixels with a transparent background. Save it as a GIMP XCF file type, for example: I_Spy_Reptiles_2ndGrade.XCF and export it as I_Spy_Reptiles_2ndGrade.jpg when it is complete. After the jpg is inserted into PowerPoint, click the "Reset Picture" button on the Picture toolbar so that the scene will fit the slide exactly and no quality will be lost.
