North Lamar ISD - Parent Resources
You are your child's first and most important teacher.

Parents are valued assets in North Lamar ISD, where we believe that successful learning is accomplished through positive relationships with parents and our community.  The excellence in our District is due, in large part, to the involvement of our parents.  By sharing their time, talents and resources, our parents strengthen North Lamar ISD.  In addition to the resources found on this site, parents are encouraged to contact their child's teachers and school office for additional information or volunteer opportunities.
North Lamar ISD Panther Messenger

NLISD uses the SchoolMessenger Notification System for the Panther Messages. The system provides timely communication to parents, students, staff, and the community . If you are a staff member or have a child attending North Lamar ISD, you are automatically in the database and will receive phone notifications. However, if you would prefer to receive Panther Messages by email or text messages, you can create your own contact preference profile. InfoCenter allows you to control the ways in which you prefer to be contacted. It also works like a mailbox, giving you a place to review messages you may have missed. Please review the InfoCenter Sign-up Instructions.

Evidence proves that a brain which stays engaged over the summer loses less knowledge than one that is not kept mentally active. One way to exercise your brain is to keep reading. The Houston Association of Independent School Librarians Network (HAISLN) has a wonderful summer reading list, divided by grade levels, that the network puts great effort into updating every year. This list is often referred to when recommending good books to parents for children to read during the break from school.
Procedures for Reporting Allegations of Bullying
North Lamar ISD

The district prohibits bullying on school property, at school-sponsored or school-related activities, or in any vehicle operated by the district. Bullying may be verbal or written expression or expression through electronic means, or physical conduct. Bullying is not tolerated by the district and any student or parent of a student who believes that the student or another student has experienced bullying or that a student has engaged in bullying is encouraged to immediately report the incident. Retaliation against anyone involved in the complaint process is a violation of district policy and is prohibited.

Students or parents may report an alleged incident of bullying, orally or in writing, to a teacher, counselor, principal or other district employee. Students or parents may contact the district to obtain an incident report form that may be used to submit the complaint.

Please note that after submission of the complaint to the district employee, the district may assign the complaint to a campus administrator to follow up on the submitted complaint and any other important matters pertaining to the complaint. We encourage you to communicate with your designated campus administrator during this time.

More information about the district’s bullying policy can be found at http://pol.tasb.org/Policy/Search/788?filter=bullying or the campus administration office.
