Recycled Cans Go Toward Landscape Project 2013

Students at Everett Elementary have taken North Lamar Independent School District’s recycling effort to heart by collecting 18,980 aluminum cans during the month of October. The cans brought in $231 and will be used for landscaping the courtyard entry of the school.
Pictured are the top two winners of each grade, Amy Bolton’s second graders collected 1,378 cans and Rebecca Whitney’s third graders brought in 5,284. The two classes will be treated to a rewards party and movie.
Everett’s green sponsor Jana Kays said, “Each North Lamar campus has a recycling trailer conveniently parked for can collection. Fridays are officially ‘Can Recycle Day’ at North Lamar; however, they can be collected any day of the week.”
