Hello, my name is Christie Welch. I grew up in the small town of Miller Grove, Texas. After graduating high school, I then received my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Texas A&M-Commerce.

As a teacher, I have taught various grade levels, subjects, and students. I have taught in special education and regular education from grades 4-12. I am a certified principal, school counselor, and school librarian. This is my 13th year in education.

My husband James and I have been married for 12 years, and we have two children, Katie and Kellie. James is the Regional Vice President for Lone Star Ag Credit Bank. Katie is 9 and in 4th grade at Bailey Intermediate School. Our little one, Kellie, is 4 and attends a private preschool in Paris.

Our family has enjoyed living in Paris for 7 years. We enjoy spending time together as a family here in Lamar County and also on our cattle ranch in Red River County.
