Counselor's Corner

My goal is to provide a safe and trusting environment for students, parents, and teachers to come for assistance.

The counselor serves the school and its students in several capacities:

* Consulting with parents and teachers to help students.

Everett's "Careers on Wheels Day" will be on Tuesday, May 13th from 9:00-11:00 am. More information to come later on...

There are several small group counseling groups starting this semester that cover various issues:

* Self-Esteem

* Family Issues

* Social Skills/Manners

* Anger Issues

If you think your child would benefit from joining one of these counseling groups please communicate with your child's teacher or the counselor.

There are a variety of parent resources available for checkout in the counselor's office and in our parent library at Goodman Learning Center.

* Set regular bedtime, morning, and homework routines for your child

* Provide "choices" for your child to avoid power struggles on daily decisions.

* Encourage and support your child in school.

* Establish clear boundaries and limits for your child and be firm and consistent with discipline.
