North Lamar ISD has been fielding many phone calls and questions regarding a student with possible Meningitis. It has come to our attention that there are stories being passed that multiple students have meningitis and this is not true. We have been made aware of one student and the Paris-Lamar County Health District has not confirmed that the case was Meningitis. As soon as we know more, we will let our North Lamar family know. If you feel that you or your child were exposed, please watch for symptoms of upper respiratory, upset stomach, intense headache, vomiting, stiffness in neck, and a red and/or purple rash. Please consult your health care provider if concerned or have further questions.
You can also go to:www.parislamarhealth.com for more information about determining your or your child’s risk.
