TRS-Active Care

Open enrollment dates for the TRS Active-Care health insurance are April14th through May16th.  New booklets will be placed in your mailboxes for review.  For the 2008-2009 school year, there are no changes in coverage or premiums.  If you are making no changes, you do not have to submit a new enrollment form.  However, if you are declining coverage, changing plans, or changing dependent coverage, you must submit a new form that is enclosed in the TRS booklet.  Please submit to the Business Office no later than May 16th.

Summer Pay Dates are as follows:  June 25th; July 24th.
These are firm dates.  Checks will be mailed the day before pay dates.  If you need your check deposited on pay date and you are out of town, direct deposit may be considered.  We can do direct deposit just for the summer if you prefer.  Bring a deposit slip or voided check to Janell Allen by the end of school year to utilize the direct deposit method.  Please inform us if your direct deposit is to be only for summer checks.

Please include the computer's VNC number in your work order request.  Some problems can be fixed by remote. You can find your VNC number by moving your mouse across the blue icon with the yellow dot.  It will display the VNC number (ex. 10.44.....)

  • Teachers should save receipts for Educator's Deduction - By IRS
  • NLISD employees (with ID) will be admitted to NLISD home games.  Employees must purchase tickets for out-of-town games.
  • Employees may make direct deposit of payroll checks to any bank.  Forms are available through campus secretaries on each campus.  The form must be accompanied by a voided check or deposit slip and returned to Janell Allen in the payroll department at the administration building.
  • Employees with name, address, beneficiary or other personal changes should advise the personnel and payroll department.
  • Now is a good time to review your withholding status and/or allowances.  Complete a new 2008 W-4 to change information.
  • Retiring - If you plan to retire this school year, please contact the Teacher Retirement System now to start the proper paperwork and avoid the end-of-year rush.  Call TRS at 1.800.223.8778 or write them at 1000 Red River Street, Austin, TX 78701-2698.
